Elaine Lonsdale, also known as 'Companion Bears', from Cheshire, England.
Elaine has been making these stunning creations for over fifteen years. The inspiration for her work derives from her love of the work of the illustrators of children's books at the turn of the 20th century. Artists such as Louis Wain, George Thompson, Kate Greenaway and Beatrix Potter have all in their own way provided sources of inspiration. Elaine has always strived to make her work distinctive and recognisable. Her creations can be found in many Teddy Bear museums around the world. We are very proud at Silly Bears to be the only stockist of Elaine's outstanding work. A very talented artist! Thank you Elaine.
We are especially pleased to announce Elaine will be creating ten very special bears for our Annual Artist Signing Event on the 2nd of October 2010. Bears from the event will be launched on our website at 3pm.

The Gordon Bear is 6inches (15cm) and is made from hand-dyed soft ivory English mohair. Gordon Bear appears resplendent in a beautiful100% white cotton tunic jacket with breast pockets, and finished off with small brass buttons. Also wearing a traditional Gordon tartan kilt with a hand-made sporran, and finally not forgetting his red and white diced black glengarry! His outfit has been themed on the 92nd Regiment that became the '1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders', in 1881. The Gordon Bear stands proudly in his uniform looking very Scottish and patriotic. He is definitely worth adding to any discerning collection. Limited edition of 5 pieces.
