Rita has been making bears professionally since 1994. Rita approaches her work with such creativity and imagination. The inspiration for her stunning bears, come from years of visiting flea markets! Rita often finds new ideas for her bears while she wanders amongst the stalls at the markets. We are very proud at 'Silly Bears' to be stocking Rita's wonderful bears.
Rita has created six adorable traditional style bears for our Winter Collection 2010. This collection demonstrates all the different sizes of bears created by this very talented artist.
Martha is 8inches (20cm) and is made from a beautiful wavy ivory mohair, has black glass eyes and aged beige suede paw pads, with black shoelace claws. Rita has slightly aged Martha's muzzle, ears and paw pads for a naturally aged look. Martha wears a pretty hand-made ivory and blue patterned cotton summer dress. Martha is a stunning wee bear!
