We frequently add new bears to our website, but until now it's been difficult to see what's new. To make it easier for our collectors to find out when we have new bears available, we are now sending out our latest updates, as they happen. So you can keep up-to-date with the latest bears available on our online shop by following us on twitter, becoming a fan on facebook, or reading our RSS feed.
Winter Collections 2010/11
From the 1st of September to the end of November, we will be launching our Winter Collections for 2010/11. Our artists have been busy working away all summer to the themes of Victorian Bedtime, a Traditional Bear, Grandeur and Sherlock Holmes. The collections demonstrate the work of perfectionists; spending many hours on the detail of each creation and striving to make their work better than the last collection for us. A majority of the collections showcase the different styles of bears, created by these very talented artists at Silly Bears. We feel so proud and privileged to launch our Winter Collections for 2010/11, to you our loyal and discerning collectors.
We will also be launching 'Winter' by Shelly Allison (The Rabbit Maker). Winter will be created to the theme of 'Sherlock Holmes', and is our official winter mascot for 2010. Limited edition of three pieces - SOLD OUT.
Olde Time Favourites for 2011
Also in September we will be launching our Olde Time Favourites for 2011. Having been an avid collector of teddy bears almost all of my life, it seemed only fitting to launch this special collection. The bears replicated for this collection are not of any great monetary value, but are prominent figures in the Bruce family household!
To support the bear artist industry we hand-selected three artists to replicate our Olde Time Favourite bears. We wanted to reproduce the collection as artist bears not manufactured, allowing the artists to put their own twist, signature and style into the bears. So on that note we would like to further introduce, Little Rupert by Beatrix Harries (Beatrix Bears), Grandpa Silly by June Kendall (Hardy Bears) and Wee Archie by Jean Grogan (Little Scruffs).
We will be launching and showcasing these very special bears at the Hugglets Show on Sunday 12th of September. Come and see us in Hall 1, stand 18C. More details below......
Silly Bears goes to 'Hugglets'
We have great pleasure in showcasing creations, from various different artists who supply our shop, at the Hugglets Teddies 2010 in London, on Sunday 12th of September, from 10.30pm to 4pm. The artists whose bears we will be showcasing will not be exhibiting themselves at the show. Throughout the show, we will be giving out complimentary key-rings and mugs. So, come along and say hello to us in Hall 1, stand 18C, and immerse yourself in the magic of the 'Teddy Bear' world, at this magnificent and magical event!

Artist Signing Event 2010
It is hard to believe another year has past us by so quickly. To celebrate our 3rd Anniversary, we will be hosting our annual Artist Signing Event with a Cocktail and Cupcakes theme, on Saturday 2nd of October, from 2pm to 5pm. The artists hand-selected to represent Silly Bears for this magnificent event; are Elaine Lonsdale (Companion Bears), Gregory Gyllenship (Gregory Bears), and Shelly Allison (The Rabbit Maker). Each artist will be showcasing 10 pieces of their work made exclusively for Silly Bears. This special day brings together three diverse and very creative artists to share their experiences of creating such highly prized and sought after creations, with our collectors.

Annual Mulled Wine Afternoon
On Saturday 4th of December 2010, we will be hosting our annual Mulled Wine Afternoon from 2pm to 5.30pm, to celebrate the Christmas Festivities. Come along for a glass or two of Julieann's Homemade Mulled Wine and luxury handmade chocolates by Cocoa Ooze. Everyone is welcome!
Spring Collections 2011
Throughout February and March, we will be launching our Spring Collections for 2011. Our artists will be busily working away, during the winter months, to create magnificent pieces for us, including several special limited editions. We are especially pleased to be able to include creations from several new artists to Silly Bears.
In addition to the above, we will also be launching in March 'Summer' our official summer mascot for 2011.
Annual Bear Making Workshop 2011
At the end of March 2011, we will be holding our fourth annual 'Bear Making Workshop' at our shop on Marischal Street, Aberdeen. We are delighted to announce that award-winning artist Beatrix Harries, also known as Beatrix Bears, has kindly agreed to host again, our annual bear making workshop for us.
The objective of the workshop is to enable you to create an artist style collectable bear to take home at the end of the day. We hope to pass on our enjoyment of bear making and help you to develop a more professional finish at the same time. We have designed the workshop along the lines of a 'bear making house-party' where you can concentrate on your interests amongst friends for a day.
