We frequently add new bears to our website, but until now it's been difficult to see what's new. To make it easier for our collectors to find out when we have new bears available, we are now sending out our latest updates, as they happen. So you can keep up-to-date with the latest bears available on our online shop by following us on twitter, becoming a fan on facebook, or reading our RSS feed.
Spring Collections 2010
Throughout February and March, we will be launching our Spring Collections for 2010. Our artists have been busily working away, over the past few months, to create magnificent pieces for us, including several special limited editions. We are especially pleased to be able to include creations from 5 new artists to Silly Bears; Jenny Johnson (Three O'clock Bears), Paula Carter (All Bear), Yvonne Graubaek (Hovvigs), Anita Weller (Puzzle Bears) and Barbara Kampf (Barbels Bears).
In addition to the above, we will also be launching early March, ahead of schedule, 'Summer' by Shelly Allison (The Rabbit Maker). Summer has been created for our 'Nautical' theme, and is our official summer mascot for 2010. Read below about the launch of our Summer Collections.
Annual Bear Making Workshop 2010
On Friday 26th and Saturday the 27th of March 2010, we will be holding our annual 'Bear Making Workshop' at our shop on Marischal Street, Aberdeen. We are delighted to announce that award-winning artist Beatrix Harries, also known as Beatrix Bears, has kindly agreed to host our annual bear making workshop for us.
The objective of the workshop is to enable you to create an artist style collectable panda to take home at the end of the day. We hope to pass on our enjoyment of bear making and help you to develop a more professional finish at the same time. We have designed the workshop along the lines of a 'bear making house-party' where you can concentrate on your interests amongst friends for a day.

Summer Collections 2010
Throughout the month of May we will be launching our Summer Collections for 2010, including creations from several new artists. For the past two years we have not launched this collection on our website, and have solely kept the bears for the Highland Gatherings. This year we have decided to make this collection available to everyone, as we understand our loyal collectors cannot always come to see us at the gatherings. So, to be fair to everyone the summer collection bears will be available either via our website, shop or at one of several Highland Gatherings we will be attending.
Wedding Celebration!
We have great pleasure in announcing Silly Bears will be hosting the Wedding Ceremony (Civil Partnership) of Gavin Orr and Michael Wheeler on Saturday 5th of June at 3pm, at our Aberdeen shop. Gavin and Michael have been customers of Silly Bears since we first opened our doors nearly three years ago. We feel so privileged and honoured to have been asked to host this very special event. They wanted their special day surrounded by the things they love the most, teddy bears! I am sure you will join us in wishing this special 'Arctophilia' couple, every happiness and best wishes for their future life together.
Their wedding list will consist of bears chosen by Gavin and Michael. The list will be available to family and friends via our website or shop from mid April.
Highland Fling!
We will be out and about again this summer attending several Highland Gatherings, across the Shires. This will be our third year in attendance at the Highland Gatherings, and we always have a fabulous time spending the day with existing and new collectors. There is something patriotic about watching several generations, proudly walking around wearing their clan tartan, and having an enjoyable family day out.
So with our merry clan of bears all gathered together, we are all set for the summer. All that is left to be done is to stock up our picnic hamper, and hip flask with a dram, or two!
Winter Collections 2010
From the 1st of September, to the end of October, we will be launching our Winter Collections for 2010. Our artists will be busily working away to the themes of Sherlock Holmes, A Traditional Bear and Victorian Bedtime. We are especially pleased to be able to include creations from several new artists to Silly Bears, plus the launch of our 'Old Time Favourites' collection, made by several of our artists. As previously mentioned, I have been an avid collector of teddy bears for almost all of my life, and I have got lots and lots of favourites. The only problem now being which bears do I select first, for this very special Silly Bears collection.
Silly Bears goes to 'Hugglets'
We have great pleasure in showcasing creations, from various different artists who supply our shop, at the Hugglets Teddies 2010 in London, on Sunday 12th of September, from 10.30pm to 4pm. The artists whose bears we will be showcasing will not be exhibiting themselves at the show. Throughout the show, we will be giving out complimentary keyrings and mugs. So, come along and say hello, and immerse yourself in the magic of the 'Teddy Bear' world, at this magnificent and magical event!
